Carson Reiners is a choreographer/director and performer from NYC. She is currently a guest artist at IMFC in Taipei, Taiwan where she choreographs and directs the studios Musical Theatre productions and teaches dance and drama. Commercial performing work in Taiwan has included Mercedes Benz, Jolla, and Netflix.. Carson is a conservatory trained dancer who began her studies as a scholarship student at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and Ballet Hispanico. She continued her training abroad at CODARTS(Rotterdam,NL) and holds a BFA from Anton Bruckner Universitat. Her work has been presented in the USA, Peru, India, Israel, and Taiwan. She is a recipient of the Krannert Center Emerging Artist Grant and Residency, Keshet Center for the Arts Residency, IAP Grant from the City of Chicago Cultural Affairs, Dance Chance Redux 6.0 Award, and Principle Dance Studio Residency. Some of her notable international collaborations have been ” Kindling”India 2013 produced by Shaked Dagan, ” Las Sacerdotistas De Machu Picchu” Peru 2012 produced by Mariano Leon and Daniel Del Rey, “Crossings” South Africa 2011 produced by Vincent Mantsoe and Michel Kelemenis. Collaborations with the Russian Theatre group, Liquid Theatre, in NYC with performances at the Joyce Soho and The Center for Art and Architecture. And the grammy nominated fiddler, Andrea Hoag, with the ensemble creation of Dovetail. As a performer, Carson danced for established choreographers in NYC and Europe, and has also worked as an actress, mime, and circus performer. She is also an avid educator and has taught extensively in Chicago, NYC and the trisate area, as well as Germany, India, Israel, and Taiwan. She is currently applying to masters programs in the field of cognitive science.
